Built (as far as I can tell) from just a handful of tactfully arranged samples, “Deep Burnt” demonstrates the massive heights you can achieve with very little kit and a lot of restraint. The full Burning EP is worth seeking out, but “Deep Burnt” is well worth the money spent picking up on its own, cut nice and loud here on Pépé’s own Atavisme label. 2018 repress in full pic sleeve, highly recommended.

black 12" vinyl pressing

both sides contain subtle edits of 'Deep Burnt'

housed in picture sleeve

music label: Atavisme 2018

reviewed by dj frog legs 05/2020
