Brenda Ray is not as much a household name as the aforementioned, however her work as Naffi and self titled releases have been a collectors item for some time. This collection compiles earlier work that is nearly improvisational with a raw, innocent sound. The dubby rhythms and sweet vocals remind us of the combination of Ari Up of The Slits, Antena, and Kleenex / LiLiPut (The English tracks at least). Includes fold-out colour insert printed on high-quality stock. The release comes highly recommended for Dub, Punk, and weirdo fans out there.

music label: EM Records 2012

reviewed by taco vato 1/2013
